Funny story: I totally fucked up and played a song from a previous episode. That's a huge no-no for me and is always a fear of mine, so I was mortified when I realized it happened. It was due to a brain fart several months in the making.
For over a year, I've occasionally asked myself "how have I never played 'Ahh.. Nerede'?" I was so convinced I hadn't played it, but I actually did play it in Show 27 from September 2018. For some reason, I always forget that episode, even though I'm very familiar with Shows 26 (the first one where I played Marie Rottrova) and 28 (feat. "Znikad", a fav of mine).
Even better: early this morning while I was still in bed, I had a panicked thought of "Ooh, I should make sure I didn't already play "Ahh...Nerede". But of course I fell back asleep and forgot.
I've had to check songs before that I suspected I previously played, and I've caught a few that way. More often though, it is a song that I almost played but removed, and then when it fit a later playlist I was still remembering the early draft of the older show. I've also had few scares where a song aired and I freaked out and checked the history, but it was always a false alarm...until today. I swear my heart sank when I realized today, and I felt a warm wave of embarrassment.

Anyway, I promise it was a totally fluke mistake and not a loosening of standards. I take the Fresh Playlist requirement very seriously, and will be more diligent in the future.
When I do the math though: 166 episodes, minus 8 year-end recaps, equals 158 episodes. 15 song on average per episode = 2,370 unique songs over eight years. One mistake out of 2,370 is an error rate of 0.042% (i.e. 0.000421941).
So while I'm no longer Six Sigma-compliant, I'm still doing better than your favorite restaurant. 😎
But still, I'm kicking myself.
